Hillside school Utawala wishes to recruit a highly motivated and competent individual to fill the below mentioned position:

• BAKER

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Ensuring strict adherence to the recipes and appropriate processes while making the various products.
2. Ensuring that all products are always baked on time for quick, efficient and quality service.
3. In liaison with the hygiene personnel, ensure that the highest hygiene standards are maintained in the work area.
4. To ensure minimal wastage at the baking process and that all costs are strictly controlled.
5. To be proactive, creative and innovative by generating ideas on product development to the management.
6. Train the trainees or any other staff member as assigned by the management in the preparation or baking the various products.
7. Ensure that the equipment and machines are maintained in a sound serviceable condition at all times and that no malfunctioning occurs due to negligence. This includes routine daily physical examination as necessary as well as liaising with the supervisor to ensure that they are serviced as scheduled when due.
8. Have knowledge of the safety rules and cleaning procedures of equipment used in the bakery to avoid damaging them or causing injuries.
9. Give appropriate feedback to the supervisor concerned.
10. Operating the oven and ensuring that the baked products are of good quality.
11. Operating the proofer and maintaining documentations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

1. Two years experience as a baker
2. Diploma/ Certificate in Bread/pastries
